Most self storage facilities have multi level buildings. The reason is, they're cheaper to build, since the owner only needs to buy a fraction of the land. That's good for the owner, but as a customer, here are some of the pitfalls of renting at a multi-story facility:

  • The price quoted for a unit seems low, but it is usually on an upper floor.
  • Ground floor, drive-up units rent for a premium (higher prices than ours!), if they have any.

All our storage bin units are on one level.

When you move into a unit at a multi level facility you must take each of the following steps:

  1. Unload your vehicle
  2. Load your unit
  3. Wait for the elevator
  4. Repeat steps 1 through 5 for as many trips as necessary
  5. Load the elevator
  6. Maybe take turns with others using the elevator.
  7. Unload the elevator
